Atlas has officially been with us for one whole week. You are probably wondering what life is like with a European Doberman puppy as new dog owners. The short answer is…
We wasted no time scheduling Atlas’ first vet visit. As a matter of fact, I scheduled the appointment even before we picked up Atlas.
So you received the call that your puppy is ready for pick up, now what? If you are a new dog owner, like us, then this guide to puppy pick-up day will be especially useful. We researched expectations, what to bring and how to thoroughly prepare for the big day, so you don’t have to!
Welcome home Atlas! After nearly a year of research, planning, budgeting and patience, Atlas, our first dog and Doberman is home at last! When we picked Atlas up, he was 9 weeks + 2 days old and weighed in at 13 lbs. The long journey to arrive here is just as exciting as the day we first held Atlas in our arms.
It’s the final countdown and we may have gone overboard. That is, we have been ordering puppy supplies on a weekly basis, taking advantage of the recent holiday sales and stashing them in the gym room of our house. I decided to take all the supplies we’ve accumulated and photograph them in one spot. This is the result.
Our puppy pick-up date is confirmed! We received words from West Coast Doberman that our puppy will be ready for us by first week of January! We went over the calendar together with Tony and we have a very clear idea on our puppy pick-up date. Our puppy and his litter mates will be receiving their first round of vaccination next week.
The journey to find a dog, more specifically a Doberman Pinscher, to add to our family began in February 2019. The backstory on the other hand, traces back to my childhood. I became fascinated with German Shepherd Dogs and Doberman Pinschers when I was a child growing up.
Welcome to ATLAS’ Den, a newly established blog devoted to Atlas, our European Doberman Pinscher. Atlas is both our first dog and first Doberman.
