Now that Atlas has received all his vaccinations, including his rabies shot, it’s time to take him on a walk. This article is about taking our Doberman puppy on his first walk, starting at 14 weeks old.
This past weekend, our Doberman puppy got his canine influenza vaccination. The vaccine comes in two booster shots, so we’ll need to return in 3-4 weeks.
Atlas turned 17 weeks old on March 6th, 2020, just a day before he receives his final vaccinations. On his vet visit, he received his rabies shot and DHPP vaccination and our vet diagnosed Atlas with puppy pyoderma.
The Doberman is a highly energetic breed and an adult Doberman requires at least 2 hours of daily exercise to alleviate this energy. So what does this translate to a puppy who hasn’t received its full round of vaccination and rabies shot yet? This article documents how we mentally stimulate our doberman puppy at home.
We introduced our Doberman puppy to a homemade raw food diet at three months old. He is now exclusively fed a raw evening meal and kibbles for breakfast. I prepare Atlas’ homemade raw meal a week in advance, or 8 servings.
When Atlas turned 11 weeks old, I began introducing Atlas to fresh food by Freshpet Nature’s Fresh balanced meal to his diet.
We wasted no time scheduling Atlas’ first vet visit. As a matter of fact, I scheduled the appointment even before we picked up Atlas.
